Moscow Millionaire Fair: Babes, Baubles, and Bugatti
With 88,000 new millionaires in the last 20 years, Russia is boasting some serious wealth. Of course most of the money comes from oil and minerals, but who cares about that right now... You came to this post to see pictures and videos of babes, baubles, and Bugatti Veyron. And last year Russians showed up at the fair by the Mercedes load spending over $600 million dollars.
This is the third annual Moscow Millionaire Fair and the fair has a nice official website (except for the annoying music) including videos from 2005 (16MB) and 2006 (8MB). They missed a fantastic opportunity for their advertisers by failing to post the fair guide on the internet, but I suppose th peasants are not supposed to see such beautiful riches lest they lust. But surprisingly the tickets are only 30 Euros -- chump change for the target crowd.
MSNBC must sub-title their article the Unsustainable wealth gap between nouveau riche and the very poor yet an American business man in Russia is quoted in the LA Times in an unrelated article "the Russian economy is so hot, and the consumer class -- the middle class as everyone calls it -- is so vibrant." The wealthy are very wealthy everywhere, so it may be that they just show off more in Russia.
