A Few More Russia Related Blogs

I checked some blog directories (blorograma, bloghub, blogcatalog, and BlogFlux) to find any interesting Russian blogs that I have missed. It seems that I had never noticed the piles of blogs related to Maria Sharapova, Russian Brides, and even one site that reviews Russian escorts (links not provided.) Unfortunately, there were not many more of note with these exceptions that you might be interested in:That was all that I found in the various catalogs that I have not already linked to. A sad list, so it seems people need to add their sites to those directories. It only takes a few minutes.

Through other links about, I ran into these sites too:
Goodbye Baby Lenin
Adventures in Vladimir

I noticed that Adventures in Vladimir has posted about my page: 101 Ways that you know you have been in Russia too long and given the credit to peacecorpsonline.org/messages/messages/467/3677.html which simply reposted my page entirely.

Anyone know of any other good Russia related blogs that I may have missed?

Edit: Seems Siberian Light was out looking for new blogs this weekend too. Our paths crossed once.

I had heard over and over in other blogs' comments that he does not have a blog, so I was surprised to run across it. I noticed that it had been up since 2005 too, but I suppose that I never found it because it is so empty. It makes very little sense that he fills everyone else's comments and has worked on his own blog.

I beg your pardon, it does make sense. His "analysis and critique" is so flawed that actually nobody reads it on his blog. So be abuses other people's blogs to find an audience there. Sad, but simple.

Oops, I left off a "not" ...

It makes very little sense that he fills everyone else's comments and has not worked on his own blog.

I found it humorous to find the link, which is the main reason I listed it. But maybe everyone else already knew about it.

Well, it's the same thing as with Jimmy Hoffa's suitcase and Oswald's "backup riflemen". Those who know about those secrets prefer to not talk about them.

Sorry, I must have missed that rule in Russian Blogger's handbook. Could you give me the link to those rules again so that I can review?

Edit: Just after coming by here to post this, I head over to Sean's Russia Blog and see that Mike is covering it in comments. See the attachment.

Re: it not making sense for Mike to post comments on others blogs...

Actually, I think it makes perfect sense, if you are trying to get your point of view to as many people as possible.

The risk of writing a blog is that nobody comes to read what you write. By commenting on others' blogs, Mike takes advantage of a ready made, targetted and semi-captive audience. By commenting in the (many) places he does, Mike gets many, many more people reading his commentary than any of us, based in a static location, ever do.

The downsides of having no place to call home, of course, are also quite big - no central repository of your work, and for some reason you seem like a bit of a crank if you only post on others blogs/sites.

Actually I believe he has a sort of repository, though not in a typical blog form-

Lying about Russia
